Citric Acid

Which surfaces should I keep it away from?

Not marble, natural stone, enamel or aluminium: Kazidomi citric acid attacks these materials. Before using it on an unfamiliar surface, test on an area that barely shows, then rinse. Avoid prolonged contact with skin and eyes, and work in a room with the window open.

How do I descale a kettle or a coffee machine?

Dissolve Kazidomi citric acid in water, fill the appliance, leave it to work, then rinse several times with clean water before using it again. On chrome taps, apply the solution and wipe off. The powder is used on its own: never combine it with another cleaning product in the same container.

What exactly is in this pack?

The ingredient list runs to one line: citric acid at over 99.8%. Kazidomi has it produced in France and packs it as 1 kg of white crystalline powder. That concentration is why it serves for descaling as much as for homemade household recipes made up in the kitchen.

Citric acid or bicarbonate of soda — which one against limescale?

The two powders do different jobs. Kazidomi citric acid is acidic: it dissolves limescale and oxidation marks. Bicarbonate is mildly abrasive and suits scouring or deodorising instead. Use them separately, each on its own task, and never together in the same solution.

How should I store it?

Only in its original container, tightly closed, away from heat and damp. Kazidomi citric acid is hygroscopic: left open to humid air, it clumps into hard blocks. A dry cupboard, out of reach of children and away from food, is the right place for it.
