Are these beans ready to use?

Yes. The Kazidomi tin holds cannellini beans already cooked, in water: they want neither soaking nor cooking beforehand. All you do is drain them and rinse them under clean water before use. The net weight is 400 g, for a drained weight of 240 g.

Do I need to rinse them before cooking?

A quick rinse under cold water takes off the canning liquid, which is slightly thick and salty, and leaves a cleaner taste. Kazidomi cannellini can then go straight into a cold salad, or into a stew near the end of cooking, just long enough to warm through without breaking up.

Tinned cannellini or dried beans: what changes in use?

A dried bean wants a night of soaking and then a long cooking. The Kazidomi tin removes both steps: the bean arrives cooked and tender. The texture is softer and lends itself to purées, soups and salads; a dried bean holds its shape better in a long, slow braise.

Why do some tins arrive dented?

That is a hazard of transport for canned goods. Kazidomi flags it on the product sheet: a slightly dented tin does not affect the quality of what is inside. A tin that is pierced, swollen or leaking should be set aside, however, since the seal is then no longer doing its job.

How do I keep leftover beans?

The unopened tin keeps somewhere cool and dry. Once opened, Kazidomi asks that the beans be moved into another container, put in the fridge and eaten within three days. A leftover is never left in the opened metal tin, even with something over the top of it.
