What goes into this full-bodied blend?

Sixty per cent arabica from Latin America and forty per cent robusta from Tanzania. Robusta carries more caffeine than arabica and gives the Kazidomi blend its firm bitterness. The beans are organic and Fairtrade certified, roasted in Alsace by a family roastery, and the bag holds one kilo of whole beans, delivered unground.

Full-bodied or balanced: which Kazidomi coffee should I choose?

The full-bodied blend puts robusta alongside arabica: a strong cup, clear bitterness, more caffeine. The balanced one from Kazidomi is a 100% arabica grown in Peru, softer and finer, with a light acidity. Take the first if you drink a short ristretto, the second for a long cup in the morning.

Which machines take these beans?

Any machine that accepts whole beans: a bean-to-cup grinder, an espresso machine with its own grinder, or a separate grinder feeding a filter or a moka pot. Kazidomi delivers the beans unground, so the fineness is yours to set. The same blend also exists ready-ground from Kazidomi, in a 250 g bag.

What does the Fairtrade certification cover?

It sets trading conditions for the coffee growers and environmental criteria for the way the crop is handled. The Kazidomi beans come from Latin America and Tanzania and are roasted and packed in France, in Alsace. Alongside Fairtrade, this coffee also carries organic certification on the bag.

How do I keep a kilo of beans in condition?

Away from heat, damp and light, in an airtight opaque container. Whole beans hold their aroma longer than ground coffee, so grind only what you are about to brew. Keep the Kazidomi bag out of the fridge and the freezer: condensation dulls the beans and coffee picks up the smell of whatever sits beside it.
