Are these cashews salted?

No, they are plain: 100% organic cashew nuts, with no added salt, no oil and no spices. The taste stays mild and slightly milky, which suits snacking as much as cooking. Kazidomi Vrac sells them loose by weight, shelled and whole, in a 250 g bag.

Plain cashews or coconut praline cashews: which one?

The plain bag is the neutral one, useful anywhere in a recipe. The Kazidomi Vrac coconut praline version is a sweet: cashews at 63%, brown cane sugar at 26% and desiccated coconut at 11%, coated and crunchy. One is an ingredient to cook with, the other is something to nibble.

Can I roast them myself?

Yes, and it is the simplest way to change their taste. Spread them on a tray and give them ten to twelve minutes at 160 °C, stirring halfway through, until they turn golden. In a dry pan over a medium heat, five minutes is enough for the Kazidomi Vrac nuts.

How much is a portion?

About thirty grams, a small handful, is the usual snacking portion for tree nuts. In a cooked dish, count a tablespoon of chopped Kazidomi Vrac cashews per plate instead. The 250 g bag therefore gives roughly eight individual portions if you eat them just as they are.

How do I keep them?

Somewhere cool and dry, out of the light, bag resealed or the nuts tipped into a jar. Cashew is a fatty nut and takes up cupboard smells easily, so keep it away from the spice rack. A bitter taste means a rancid nut to pull out of the Kazidomi Vrac bag.
