Choose your format :

Lime and ginger give this kombucha a sharp profile with a slight bite on the finish. The base is the one shared across the range: an infusion of green tea, black tea and plants — mate, lime blossom, cornflower, lemon balm, nettle, elderflower, liquorice — fermented with a kombucha culture, then blended with lime juice (2%) and ginger juice (1.5%). Single 330 ml bottle, pasteurised.

Serve well chilled, on its own or lengthened with sparkling water if the ginger feels too strong. It suits spicy cooking, a curry, spring rolls or grilled fish, and works as the base of a mocktail with a dash of lime juice and a few mint leaves. This product contains a very small amount of alcohol, less than 0.5% vol.: it is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Is this ginger kombucha hot?

The Kazidomi recipe carries two per cent lime juice and one and a half per cent ginger juice, which gives a warm edge at the finish rather than any real heat. The acidity of the citrus leads. Served very cold, the spiced side settles down noticeably.

Lime and ginger or cherry and mint: which Kazidomi kombucha?

Lime and ginger is the sharp one: citrus in front, a warm ginger note behind it. The cherry and mint bottle from Kazidomi swaps those for sour cherry concentrate and peppermint extract, rounder and cooler on the palate, with no heat at the finish. Both are the same fermented tea base.

What exactly is in the bottle?

A plant and tea infusion making up more than ninety per cent of the volume, with green tea, black tea, maté, lime blossom, lemon verbena, melissa, spearmint, nettle and liquorice, then raw cane sugar, lime juice, ginger juice and a kombucha culture. All the ingredients are organic at Kazidomi.

Can I drink it while pregnant?

Kazidomi does not recommend it. Fermentation leaves a very small quantity of alcohol, below 0.5%, stated on the label of this 330 ml bottle. The same reservation applies while breastfeeding. Otherwise it is a fermented tea drink, with no alcohol added to it at any stage.

How is the bottle kept?

Unopened it sits somewhere cool and dry at room temperature, since this Kazidomi kombucha is pasteurised. Once opened it goes into the fridge and wants drinking within five days. What fades first is the sparkle, before the lime aroma. The same recipe also comes in a 750 ml bottle.
