What is in this 330 ml bottle?

A fermented infusion of tea and plants, then fruit juice. Alongside green and black tea, the Kazidomi base carries mate, lime blossom, lemon verbena, cornflower, melissa, nana mint, nettle, woodruff, elderflower, raspberry leaf, calendula, blackberry leaf and liquorice root. Passion fruit and lemon juice come in after the fermentation.

Passion fruit and lemon or the original kombucha?

The passion fruit and lemon bottle from Kazidomi is the tart one: sharp citrus in front, tropical fruit behind it. The original is the plain version, closer to the fermented tea itself, with a drier finish and no fruit note over the top. Same base, two very different mouthfuls.

Can I drink it while pregnant?

Kazidomi does not recommend it, during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Fermentation leaves a very small quantity of alcohol, under 0.5%, and that figure is stated on the bottle. Outside that case the drink needs nothing done to it: open it cold and pour.

Why should the bottle stand upright before opening?

That is the instruction Kazidomi prints for this format. Upright and undisturbed, the drink holds its sparkle and any sediment stays at the bottom of the bottle. Shaking it beforehand is a bad idea for the same reason. Serve it very cold, at any hour, with a light or savoury plate.

How long does it last once opened?

Five days in the fridge. What goes first is the fizz, then the fruit aroma, so a bottle left open a week tastes flat rather than spoiled. The 330 ml size from Kazidomi is meant to be opened and finished; the same recipe also comes in a 750 ml bottle to share.
