What is in Chokodomi?

Brown cane sugar, hazelnut paste at 18%, sunflower oil, cocoa powder at 15%, cocoa butter, sunflower lecithin, vanilla extract and salt, all from organic farming. Kazidomi flags possible traces of tree nuts on the label. The jar holds 300 g and the spread is made in France.

Chokodomi or plain hazelnut butter: which do I want?

Chokodomi is a sweetened spread: cane sugar heads the list, with cocoa and hazelnut behind it. The Kazidomi roasted hazelnut butter is 100% nuts, unsweetened, thicker and far less sweet on bread. Take Chokodomi for a chocolate spread and the nut butter when you want to sweeten a recipe yourself.

Does it contain palm oil?

No. The added fat is sunflower oil, alongside cocoa butter and the hazelnut paste itself. Kazidomi does not use palm oil in Chokodomi. The texture stays soft at room temperature, without the set, waxy feel that palm fat gives a spread straight out of the cupboard.

How do I keep it once opened?

Somewhere cool and dry, out of the light, with the lid closed firmly after each use. The fridge is not needed and hardens the paste, which then tears the bread. Kazidomi prints the date on the jar. A 300 g jar suits one or two people and is finished sooner than the larger one.

What does this spread taste like?
